Life on Cottage Hill: PAGES

little fishies.

I have so much to catch up on.
Life has been a little... much? This week.
That was mainly driven by my crazy work stuff which I'll get to in another update, but the kids were also having a blast all week at swim lessons.
Audrey's teachers declared her the social butterfly of her group and Jackson - not surprisingly- was focused.
He was a man on a mission.
His goal: to jump off the diving board, without a life jacket, in the deep end all on his own.
And he did it. On the first day and every day since multiple times.
Poor Amy said she almost had a heart attack when she saw him do it the first time.
Our little Jackie, flying into the deep end... I think this is what they call art reflecting life?
This has been his summer to explode into more independence, leaving fear behind so many times in lieu of fun and adventure and I couldn't be more proud (albeit a little sad too, his baby days are far gone at this point).
But I have to say it provides some comfort with Kindergarten quickly approaching.
I've always known it, but I know it now more than ever that entering new phases is way harder on me than it is on him. Every time.

the bear cuddled up and passed out on Amy- long days at the pool are hard! (and so. much. fun.)
